Frequently asked questions
Questions people actually ask
Does any of my data leave my machine?
Not without your approval. Where a task genuinely requires an external service, OpenOne says so explicitly, asks, and shows exactly what would be sent.
How can I check the privacy claim?
OpenOne is fully open source, and anyone who watches the network can verify that nothing leaves the machine.
Will it run on my computer?
Hardware requirements are stated honestly rather than optimistically, and it degrades gracefully to smaller models on modest machines.
What can it work with?
It indexes your email, files, calendar and notes locally, then answers questions and performs tasks across all of them.
What does it cost?
OpenOne is free and open source, permanently. Optional encrypted sync between your own devices is 6 dollars a month.
Can the sync server read my data?
No. Sync is encrypted, and the sync server cannot read anything.
Is there a version for firms?
Yes. Professional firms can add deployment tooling, policy controls and support at 39 dollars per seat. Regulated organisations can also take a paid support contract.
Why should I trust the AI assistant privacy check?
The score comes from your answers, worked out in your browser. It does not inspect your software or your network. It is not legal advice: whether client material may leave your machine is for your firm or professional body to confirm.
What does your AI assistant send off your machine?
Answer thirteen questions about the AI assistant you use or are considering: what leaves your machine, client material, what you can verify and what you control. See where your data is most exposed. Runs in your browser. No account, no card, no call.
